Home & Garage Transformation with New uPVC Windows & Composite Doors Throughout

This home underwent a complete refresh with the installation of 21 white uPVC casement windows, a composite stable front door, back door, and side door, all complemented by Painswick grey side screens. Let’s delve into the design choices and the homeowner’s vision for this project.

A considerable upgrade with 21 uPVC casement windows, composite stable door, back door and front door, in Painswick grey, with side screens as part of a full property refurbishment.

The Brief and the Client’s Goals

The homeowner approached us with two key requirements:

  1. Comprehensive Property Refurbishment:
As part of the refurbishment and extension, the customer sought to replace all existing windows and doors while installing additional ones in the newly built extension to enhance the aesthetics and functionality.
  2. Enhanced Natural Light and Privacy:
The new front door with fully glazed side panels allows natural light into the hallway, while the other doors provide the necessary privacy and security features.

Products Used

White uPVC Casement Windows

We installed 21 white uPVC casement windows throughout the home. These windows offer several key benefits:

  • Energy Efficiency:
The windows have excellent thermal insulation properties, helping to maintain the desired indoor temperature and reduce energy costs
  • Enhanced Security:
Each window features multi-point locking mechanisms, ensuring robust protection against intruders
  • Low Maintenance:
uPVC is known for its durability and requires minimal maintenance, ensuring the windows remain pristine for years to come
  • Good Ventilation:
The casement design helps with ventilation, improving air circulation within the home

Front and Back Composite Doors

We installed a composite front door and side (back) door both in Painswick grey:

  • Front Door: traditional diamond range with a slam lock operation, with fully glazed side panels
  • Side Door:  a classical half-glaze, perfect for the side of the house where privacy is not such an issue

These doors offer several advantages:

  • Enhanced Natural Light: The fully glazed side panels of the front door allow natural light to flood the hallway.
  • Energy Efficiency: Both doors provide excellent thermal insulation, contributing to lower energy bills.
  • Privacy: The back door, being half-glazed, offers privacy for the areas where it’s needed.

Composite Stable Door

The garage stable door, in Painswick grey, matches the front door design and provides both aesthetic appeal and practicality. Key features include:

  • Stylish Design: The traditional diamond range design with a stable door style adds a unique charm to the property
  • Robust Security: Equipped with a slam lock operation, it ensures strong security

Unique Challenges and Bespoke Solutions

Seamless Integration with Ongoing Construction

This project required us to work within an active building site. Some windows needed installation in new openings, while others replaced existing ones.

Bespoke Solution

Our installers ensured each window was meticulously fitted, maintaining a clean and organised workspace daily. This approach minimised disruption and ensured the project proceeded smoothly despite the construction environment.

Timeline: An Efficient Installation

The installation of the windows took three days, with our team carefully removing the existing windows and fitting the new ones. The doors were installed in a single day due to the pre-prepared new openings, ensuring a swift and efficient process.

The End Result

A Comprehensive Upgrade: Style, Efficiency & Security

The installation of the 21 white uPVC casement windows, 3 composite doors, and Painswick grey side screens resulted in a stunning transformation. The outcome includes:

  • Enhanced Aesthetics: The new windows and doors significantly improved the property’s curb appeal.
  • Improved Energy Efficiency: High-quality materials and installation techniques ensured superior thermal insulation.
  • Increased Natural Light: Fully glazed side panels on the front door maximised natural light in the hallway.

Our property now enjoys enhanced security, improved energy efficiency, and a fresh, modern look that aligns with their refurbishment goals.
