The Brief and the Client’s Goals

Our customer embarked on this project with two key goals in mind:

  1. Enhanced Security and Energy Efficiency:
Their existing windows and doors, over 20 years old, lacked the security features and energy efficiency of modern alternatives. Upgrading to composite doors and uPVC windows offered significant improvements in both areas.
  2. A Fresh, Modern Look:
The outdated style of the doors and windows no longer matched the customer’s vision for their home. They desired a fresh look that complemented the overall design.

Unique Challenges and Bespoke Solutions

Balancing Light and Privacy

This project presented a unique challenge, as the customer has a dedicated cinema and memorabilia room that requires a light-controlled environment. Due to this, they were looking to maximise the natural light in some rooms while maintaining darkness in others.

Bespoke Solution

To achieve the balance, we incorporated a unique solid blue side panel in the main entrance doors. This stylish element complements the overall design while preventing light from entering the cinema room. Additionally, large clear glass panels were used in the windows throughout the house to maximise natural light in other areas.

Streamlined Project Timeline

Our customer appointed Three Counties as their trusted installer in mid-July. To ensure a smooth process, we conducted a comprehensive survey of the property within the same week. This allowed us to plan the project efficiently and begin installation in September.
